Story

About a decade ago, "gates" began to open and connect this world to different dimensions. "Awakened Beings" started to appear among ordinary citizens. These "Awakened Beings" are the only ones strong enough to fight the monsters in the dungeons beyond each gate. They are called "hunters." However, not all hunters are created equally. One E-Rank hunter they call "The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind" struggles to stay alive, even in the lowest-level dungeons. His name is Sung Jinwoo. With almost nothing to his name, he braves the dungeons to support his family and barely makes enough to get by. At least until he finds himself in a deadly "Double Dungeon," hidden inside a lowly D-Rank gate.

Believing it's the end, he accepts the inevitable, But awakens to discover new and strange abilities. A quest window, like one from a video game- only visible to him! And with it, a secret means of "Leveling Up!" He now seeks to "level up" by hunting monsters and completing these quests that can only be done solo!

Characters

Sung Jinwoo (S-Rank)

A special hunter who can "level up". After the Double Dungeon Incident, this former E-Rank hunter gained access to a "system" that helped him become more powerful. Though once nicknamed The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind, he now has the ability to turn the dead into his Shadow Soldiers.

Jo Kyuhwan

A C-Rank mage-type hunter affiliated with Hwang Dongsuk's Strike Squad. He joined Dongsuk's Squad in search of a "sure way to make good money."

Song Chiyul

A C-Rank mage-type hunter. He's a skilled kendo practitioner, but rarely uses a sword in the dungeons due to the nature of his magical abilities. After losing his family in an accident caused by the Hunters Association's carelessness, he's become a volunteer hunter, clearing every dungeon he's assigned without fail.

Kim Sangshik

A D-Rank hunter who uses swordsmanship to slay magic beasts. Because he values his family above all else, he focuses on just making it home at the end of the day, living by the rule "Prioritize survival over earnings".

Lee Bora

An A-Rank mage-type hunter affiliated with the Hunters Guild. She possesses high-level summoning abilities that make her one of the elite, even within her prestegious guild. As a realist, she sometimes struggles to wrap her head around the fact she can wield unexplainable magical powers, but she's confronting her existential confusion by studying her powers as she uses them.

Hwang Dongsuk

A guildless C-Rank Tank who leads a private Strike Squad. He kills people for his own benefit. After all, "What happens in the dungeons stays in the dungeons."

Hwang Dongsoo

Korea's 8th S-Rank Hunter. He left Korea and joined the Scavenger Guild in the United States. He has a lot of pride in his powers. He is the brother of Hwang Dongsuk, a C-Rank hunter.

Min Byung-Gu

Korea's only S-Rank healer. He retired after witnessing the horrific death of his closest comrades, leaving him with deep emotional trauma. However, he still possesses outstanding healing powers, and though fighting isn't his primary duty, his combat abilities can be compared to an A-Rank hunter's. Whenever something big happens, he's always tempted to rejoin the ranks.

Han Song-Yi

A high school girl who attends the same school as Sung Jinah, Sung Jinwoo's younger sister. The year she turned 19, she awakened as an E-Rank. Despite her low rank and young age, she has a dream of becoming a great hunter, so she joins every raiding team that will let her tag along.

Park Heejin

A Mage-type hunter in the White Tiger Guild. Thanks to her unmatched survival instincts, she always knows which choice will keep her alive. She and Sung Jinwoo were both involved in the Red Gate incident.

Kang Taeshik

A surveillance agent with the Korean Hunters Association Surveillance Team. Unexpected "accidents" always happen when he's dispatched, and the criminals he monitors often get caught in these "accidents" and die.

Woo Jinchul

The Chief Inspector of the Hunters Association Surveillance Team. He's an A-Rank, but he is nearly on par with an S-Rank. He joined the Hunters Association with the desire to become a hunter who protects fellow hunters. As Chairman Go's assistant, he frequently crosses paths with Sung Jinwoo.

Lee Joohee

A timid B-Rank Healer and a member of the Hunters Association. She had no intention of becoming a hunter, but gave in to a fellow staff member's persistent badgering. She does hunting work as a volunteer, so she only participates in low-difficulty raids to help the weaker hunters.

Kim Chul

An A-Rank Tank and a rising star in the White Tiger Guild. He has great confidence in his abilities, but he's simple, ignorant, and superficial.

Yoo Jinho

The second son of Yoo Myunghan, the president of Yoojin Construction. Jinho befriended Sung Jinwoo through a twist of fate and several raids. He is one of the few people that Sung Jinwoo fully trusts.

Lim Tae-Gyu

The guild master and founder of Korea's very first guild, the Fiend Guild. Though the guild was once extremely reputable, its status deteriorated when Baek Yoonho separated from them and gained power, at which point the Hunters overtook the guild. His main weapons are Magic Arrows, made of concentrated magical energy.

Baek Yoonho

The guild master of the White Tiger Guild and an S-Rank hunter. Originally, he was one of the four founding members of the Fiend Guild. After parting ways with them, he took guild members from his previous Guild to found the White Tigers. He has an ability called "Beast Transformation," which allows him to transform into a frightening Magic Beast.

Choi Jong-In

The guild master of the Hunters Guild, the best Guild in South Korea. He's been nicknamed "The Ultimate Hunter." This S-Rank Mage-type hunter mainly uses his Fire Magic, which can burn down a building faster than the blink of an eye.

Emma Laurent

A kind-hearted hero who's always willing to step up when someone needs help. She has a bright and cheerful personality and plays the role of mood maker. She's investigating the "Raid Break" incident with Alicia Blanche.

Cha Hae-In

The 9th S-Rank hunter discovered in South Korea and the vice guild master of the Hunters Guild. She was the strongest hunter in South Korea before Sung Jinwoo made his debut. Due to her special ability to smell mana, she goes about life with a handkerchief covering her nose. She is fascinated to discover that Sung Jinwoo is the only hunter she's ever encountered with a pleasant scent.
