Or use Blackmagic Camera as a B Cam to capture angles that are difficult to reach with traditional cameras, while still maintaining control over important settings. Fast setup with interactive controls
The Blackmagic Camera has all the controls you need to start shooting right away! Tap any item and instantly change settings without searching through confusing menus! In addition to status and record parameters, the HUD shows histograms, focus peaking indicators, levels, frame guides, and more. Swipe up or down to show or hide the HUD. By tapping the screen in the area you want to focus, you can autofocus. Shoot in 16:9 or vertical aspect ratios, plus you can shoot 16:9 vertically if you want to make your shot unobtrusive.
Heads-up display on screen
Camera controls such as lens selection, frame rate, shutter angle, timecode, ISO, white balance, gain and audio levels are located on the heads up display, or HUD. Adjusting settings like exposure can be done by touching the ISO indicator, or you can adjust audio levels by touching the audio meters. With interactive features, you can change any item's settings instantly without having to search through complex menus!
Setup menus for cameras
Using the settings tab, you can access advanced camera settings such as monitoring, audio, camera setup, recording, and more. Recording options include industry standard Apple ProRes or space-saving H.264 and H.265. In addition, you can adjust anamorphic de-squeeze and lens correction settings. Audio metering options for professionals include VU and PPM audio metering in AAC and PCM formats. Even external microphones are possible! Recreate film looks with 3D LUTs!
Media
You can browse or scrub clips for quick reviews, search and sort your media, and view the upload status on the Blackmagic Camera media tab. By selecting the Media button from Blackmagic Camera's all clips folder, you can see thumbnails for each clip you've saved. You can also save clips to your phone's files folder, send them to Blackmagic Cloud Storage via Blackmagic Cloud or manually upload them to a project library. Blackmagic Camera media can even be synced directly into a DaVinci Resolve project so you can edit it right away!
Blackmagic Cloud Storage Live Sync
Video captured with Blackmagic Camera can be uploaded instantly as a proxy file, followed by the camera originals, and saved to Blackmagic Cloud Storage. By using your proxies, you can start editing quickly, thus speeding up the editing process.
